A Forum is an online meeting place for the open discussion of various topics. Forum users can browse the existing topics of discussion or create new topics of discussion of their own. Forums are grouped into related areas of discussion known as Forum Groups.

A topic of discussion on a forum is known as a Thread. Users can contribute messages to existing threads or start their own threads. A user contributed message to a thread is known as a Post. Messages posted by a user to a thread can be read and responded to by other forum users.
