After successful testing of the IMCI Computerized Adaptation and Training Tool (ICATT) in a classroom setting in Tanzania and Peru, ICATT was tested for the first time in a two month distance learning course in two districts in East Java from27-29 June until 19 August 2009. First ever IMCI distance learning course using ICATT started in Central Java, Indonesia. The two month IMCI distance learning course using ICATT started at the end of June in Boyolali and Banyumas districts, Central Java, Indonesia. Twenty participants from 10 health centres from each district participate in the course. Indonesian adaptation and translation of ICATT is used in the course. Read More

Indonesia is one of the three early application countries in which WHO will try out how ICATT can best be used for IMCI training in both pre- and in- service settings. The activities in these countries are, like the development of ICATT, supported by WHO in collaboration with the Novartis Foundation for Sustainable Development (NFSD). The adaptation of ICATT for Indonesia in the national language Bahasa and in English started in December 2008 and is still ongoing. It was decided that Indonesia, after the adaptation has been completed, will field-test ICATT in a distance learning course. Read More
